Camping adventure on horseback in Riding Mountain National Park

Our overnight ride options

In this package, we combine horseback riding and camping… awesome right???

Come join us for 2 days of riding within Riding Mountain National Park. We bring all the fixing for a delicious BBQ on an open fire and breakfast the next morning.  We spend the night in one of the rustic backcountry campsite in the national park – a real adventure! We supply everything you need (tent, sleeping bags, food, …)

Hot tip: Fall is the absolute best time for camping trips to the Park!

Some experience with horses and riding is recommended for overnight trips – a good fitness level comes in handy as well. We would advise not to choose this ride for children. Due to the amount of riding, we have a weight limit for this ride of 250 pounds. Everything we need will be carried in by our mule ‘Rena’ – space is limited, so be prepared to pack very light!

Choose between two camping options!

We offer 2 options for the riding portion of this package (everything but the ride is the same in either options):

  1. The shorter one is 3.5 hours of riding on Day 1 and Day 2, starting and ending at Baldy Lake entrance; staying at Gunn Lake campsite.
  2. The longer one is ~5 hours on Day 1 and ~4 hours on Day 2, starting at Baldy Lake entrance and ending at Birdtail entrance, staying at Gunn Creek campsite.

Rates

This package is $460 (plus GST) per rider for Gunn Lake version and $485 (plus GST) per rider for Gunn Creek version (everything included). Minimum two riders.
